RE: 4070 Cascade Road, Atlanta, Ga., Structural Foundation Damage
Dear Sir:
This letter is to verify that I have personally inspected the residence located at the above referenced site and verified that the foundation has settled and caused structural damage to the building including movement of floors and brick work. It is my opinion at this time that the foundation movement has got rendered the building unsafe so long as certain remedial actions are taken. Review of the proposal by Anglin’s Minute Masonry dated November 13, 2000 will be a minimum of retro-fit actions needed, including stabilization of the foundation and jacking back into place. These actions should accomplish leveling of the floors and the filling of cracks in brick veneer walls. It is most likely that some secondary damage may occur such as crack wall finish, roof leaks, and broken masonry that will require repair not included in the estimate presented.
Upon satisfactory completion of the work indicated in the proposal and repair of secondary damage, it is my opinion that the structure will be sound and no additional work will be necessary.
Sincerely,
Larry F. McEver, P.E.
